Our Favorite Tools for Writers & Authors

We’ve spent years compiling (and building) tools to help self-published writers get things done. We’ve personally tested tools in every area of book publishing (from outlining, to writing, editing, publishing, and beyond).

We’ve gathered our favorite tools on this page to help you sell more books without having to test drive every piece of software yourself.

You’re welcome!

GeneratePress

There are thousands of WordPress themes out there, from free to premium, and almost every one of them claim to be “fast” and performance minded. GeneratePress is one of the few that actually live up to the marketing hype. When it came time to redesign Kindlepreneur's site, GeneratePress was the theme we chose. We highly recommend it.

Perfmatters

Even with good web hosting and a performance-minded theme (like GeneratePress), most sites need more to pass Google's Core Web Vitals (and give their readers as awesome an experience as possible). Our favorite optimization tool is Perfmatters. Our Head of Content, Kevin Duncan, has used it for years, and when the time came to supercharge Kindlepreneur's website, it was the first tool he had us purchase.
