This Audiobook/Audible Sales Rank Calculator has been created as a free tool for you to use and even put on your own author website. Its intentions are not to undermine Amazon in any way, but to instead help authors understand the connection between Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank number and audiobooks sold per day. This course will help you maximize that relationship and find more keywords to help you advertise and sell your books.

My team and I created Publisher Rocket, a book idea validation software that not only uses the calculator above but also helps you to find book ideas that will sell. It does this by finding popular search terms on Amazon plus the following:
- Suggests profitable search terms that you can target on Amazon/Audible
- Tells you how many people per month type the keyword into Amazon
- Gives a score from 1-99 telling you how competitive a kindle keyword is
- Tells you how much money other audiobooks are making with a royalty calculator
- Gives you key data so as to beat those audiobooks and rank better
Plus this Kindle publishing software works on both MAC and PC.
Publisher Rocket is available now for ONLY $199. We are offering it as a one time fee, but soon it will become a subscription. So lock in that lifetime access, one-time fee now!

This sales calculator calculates the sales of your Audible audiobooks in the exact way that our Kindle Sales Rank Calculator works. Given the sales rank of the book, we can infer a certain number of sales per day.
Amazon makes this relatively easy, because the algorithm for Audible's best-seller rankings appears to be similar to Kindle and print books.
With this sales calculator, you can easily figure out how much your competition is selling for audiobooks, and adjust your benchmarks to be able to compete with them.
How to Use the Audiobook Sales Rank Calculator
Start by inserting the Amazon Bestselling rank number in the plugin above. Once you have it typed in, hit the button above “Click Here.” Within milliseconds, you will have a neatly calculated “Audiobook Sales Per Day” Number.
Let's take a look at an example:
Here we have Battlefield Earth, a classic science fiction book (the movie, not so much), that also has an audiobook version. On the surface, this looks like a pretty successful book, with over 3000 reviews, a variety of reading formats, and an awesome cover. And it is! It has been a best seller for decades now. But how many copies of audiobooks is it selling today? What do its monthly sales look like? That's what we can find out with this BSR calculator.
Step 1:
Make sure you have the Audiobook Version selected.
Step 2:
Scroll down until you find the Product Details section. Here with Battlefield Earth, we find that the Audible Books & Originals rank (as of this writing) is 5,559.
Step 3:
Input that number into the Amazon Audiobook Sales Calculator to get the daily sales volume. For Battlefield Earth, it looks like that Amazon Kindle bestsellers rank means that, at the time of this writing, that book is averaging about 22 sales per day.
Step 4:
Repeat for any Amazon product listing that you want, as long as it is a book.
Does this mean that Battlefield Earth isn't a wildly bestselling book? Well, not necessarily. All this means is that, at this point in time, it's only making about 22 sales per day in Audiobook only. You can repeat this process for the book (kindle, paperback, or hardcover) using this calculator here, just remember to use “Books” or “Kindle Books” when you enter the number into the Amazon sales estimator.

What is BSR on Amazon?
BSR stands for Best Sellers Rank (it is also sometimes referred to Book Sales Rank), and refers to the ranking that you will find under the Product Details section of a book sales landing page on Amazon. The closer to 1 you get, the more sales you are making.
How is BSR calculated?
BSR is calculated based on the number of sales you are making when compared to other authors. It is a complex algorithm that also takes steady sales vs spiked sales into account. Basically, if you show steady sales over a month, your sales rank will be higher than if you got all those sales at once.
How can I improve my Amazon BSR?
The best way to improve your Amazon BSR is to develop steady sales of your book over time. This will lead to the Amazon Popularity Effect, which will increase the amount of promotion that Amazon is willing to give you. Over time, this will lead to an increased royalty.
How to find the Amazon Best Sellers Rank for Audiobooks
You can find a particular audiobook's ranking number under the “Product Details” on any Audible audiobook’s product page on Amazon:
However, keep in mind that the above screenshot shows you the rank for “Audible Books”. If, instead, you see “Kindle Store” that means you're only looking at Kindle sales which can be very different from audiobooks. Understand that the data on each sale type is different, and you nee to use the correct Amazon Best Seller calculator for its type. For example, a book could be ranked at #100 in the Audible store, but #10,000 in the Kindle store, and these rankings are independent.
Additionally, if you are looking at the Paperback or Hardcover print book version, it will say “in Books” instead of “in Kindle” or “in Audible”.
FAQ About Amazon Rankings
In addition to the Amazon audiobook sales calculator and everything mentioned above, you might have more questions about how amazing calculates its Amazon best seller ranking. Read on for a few frequently asked questions:
Yes, using the BSR to sales calculator on this page, you can see how many estimated copies of any audiobook are being sold today. Using a program like Publisher Rocket will give you further insights into how many royalties they are making, along with how competitive their keywords and categories are.
Using a sales predictor like the above Audiobook Sales Rank Calculator, or a tool like Publisher Rocket, you can get an accurate idea of how many books it is selling each day. From there, you can make an educated guess at how many royalties the book is making based on its price and how much Amazon takes out.
Amazon calculates the best selling rank based on the number of audiobooks that are selling, both in a single day and steady sales over time, and compares that with other books in its store. The BSR is updated hourly by Amazon so it is very up to date.
This depends on your definition of success. For a traditional publisher, you'd need to sell approximately 10,000 copies over it's entire lifetime. For indie publishers, breaking into the top 1500 in Amazon's audiobook sales rank is a pretty successful audiobook. However, you want to make sure those sales are steady.
Obviously, the best Amazon sales rank is #1. But generally speaking, a good sales rank is anything under 1500. If you can get into the top 1500 ranking audiobooks, you will be selling over 100 copies of your audiobook each day, which adds up if you can keep it there. That is why steady sales are so important.
